Description
Take on the challenge on foot, along a marked trail from Bourg Saint Maurice to the funicular’s upper station at Arc 1600.

The Concept
The concept is simple: in 6 hours, complete as many ascents on foot as possible between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600. Only the ascents are timed; the descent is via the funicular.
The Races
- On the 5 km course over 6 hours:
- Solo or in pairs: Each runner must complete as many ascents as possible over 6 hours; the descent is via the funicular from Arc 1600, open to anyone aged 18 or older.
- The Challenge: The Méribel Sports Club (Défi de l’Olympe 6h) and Tarentrail (Montée du Funi 6h) have joined forces to present the “12 Hours of Ascents in Tarentaise” Challenge, available as a solo or relay race. The goal is the same for both events: to complete as many ascents as possible in 6 hours.
The race will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Bourg Saint Maurice funicular parking lot.
- The Single Ascent: a single ascent between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600, open to anyone in the Cadet age group or older.
The start will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Bourg Saint Maurice funicular parking lot. - Flat-course races for children near the funicular—for children in the “athletic introduction” through “minimes” age groups.
The schedule
- 8:30 AM: Registration for the “Montée du Funiculaire” race and distribution of race bibs and timing chips for La Montée du Funi (solo, relay, and challenge)
- 10:00 AM: Start of “La Montée du Funi” (Solo, Relay, and Challenge) – 6-hour race – Bourg Saint Maurice > Arc 1600
- 10:00 – 11:00 AM: Registration for “Children’s Races.”
- 11:00 -11:30 AM: Start of children’s races by category
- 12:00 PM: Awards ceremony for the children’s races
- 12:30 – 1:30 PM: Registration for the “Montée Sèche” race and distribution of race numbers and timing chips for La Montée Sèche—Bourg Saint Maurice > Arc 1600
- 2:00 PM: Start of “La Montée Sèche”
- 3:20 PM: Last permitted ascent
- 4:30 PM: Awards ceremony for the 4 races: Solo, Relay, Challenge, and La Montée Sèche
