Everything You Need to Know About the Funicular

Hours and Rates

The last kilometer? We've got it covered.

From the Bourg Saint Maurice train station, hop on the funicular and reach Arc 1600 in just 7 minutes. Once you’re up in the mountains, the inter-resort shuttles take over, making it easy to reach Arc 1800, Arc 1950, or Arc 2000—as well as your lodging.

The result: no mountain roads to navigate, no snow chains to put on, and no traffic jams to deal with.

Good news: if you arrive by train, the round-trip funicular ride is free upon presentation of your ticket.

History

Beginning with an initial cable car link between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600 in 1974, the Les Arcs funicular took over in 1989 with a bold vision: to connect the valley directly to the peaks. Since then, it has continued to evolve: renovations, new panoramic cars, a walkway from the station, and track modernization… Still 100% electric and running more smoothly than ever, it has become much more than just a means of transportation: a true gateway to Les Arcs.

For a more sustainable way of getting around

Did you know? Up to 50% of the carbon footprint of a ski trip comes from transportation. That’s why Les Arcs has always made it easy to reach the mountains by train, funicular, and shuttle buses.
