Category 1 Tourist Information Office
The new classification criteria for tourist offices, effective July 1, 2019, have been simplified and now consist of two categories, incorporating flexible opening hours, the digitization of tourist information materials, and better alignment with the requested languages.
The Bourg Saint Maurice – Les Arcs Tourist Office had its Category 1 classification renewed in September 2024 for a period of five years.
This classification ensures consistency and uniformity in the services that tourist offices provide to visitors at various vacation destinations throughout France.
Here are the main commitments of Tourist Offices based on their category:
- Provide an easily accessible reception area and information desk.
- Provide a tourism advisor and disseminate high-quality information.
- Facilitate tourists’ arrangements. Provide free information on local tourist attractions.
- To be committed to an internal quality assurance process, handle complaints, and measure tourist satisfaction.
The goal is to update and modernize the classification criteria to account for new digital trends. It also aims to simplify administrative procedures by reducing the number of criteria and making them more objective.
Requirements for local services are also being strengthened in tourist resorts to improve the welcome extended to tourists in these premier destinations.
The Accueil Vélo Certification
In 2026, Les Arcs Bourg Saint Maurice renewed its “Accueil Vélo” certification for three years in partnership with France Vélo Tourisme!
This certification is more than just a logo:
- a variety of routes (greenways, legendary mountain passes, bike parks)
- practical services (repairs, charging, washing, parking…)
- professionals committed to welcoming cyclists under the best possible conditions
In short, a destination truly designed for cycling.
And we’re continuing to push the boundaries: quality of hospitality, structure of the offerings, customer experience…

Quality at the Tourist Destination Level
Certified under the QUALITÉ TOURISME™ label through the end of 2026—following several successive renewals—Les Arcs - Bourg Saint Maurice Tourisme is now continuing its commitment to continuous improvement with the new national “Destination d’Excellence” label.
This certification, which is gradually replacing the Qualité Tourisme label, promotes a high-quality visitor experience while addressing the key challenges of tomorrow’s tourism: quality of hospitality, environmental responsibility, accessibility, sustainability, and respect for the local area.
By embracing this initiative, Les Arcs – Bourg Saint Maurice Tourisme reaffirms its leading role in serving the destination: providing a warmer welcome, better information, and more personalized support, all while preserving what makes our region so special.

The Green Snowflake Certification
The certification committee has awarded Les Arcs the long-awaited Flocon Vert certification. Les Arcs thus becomes the first resort in Savoie to obtain this certification, which guarantees its commitment to a sustainable development policy. With the Flocon Vert certification, Les Arcs–Bourg-Saint-Maurice continues its commitment. The Flocon Vert certification was created in 2011 by the Mountains Riders association to guide mountain resorts toward more eco-friendly practices. The label is awarded based on compliance with criteria organized into four categories: local economy; social and cultural aspects; governance and destination; and environment and natural resources.
