The "Démontagnée" in Bourg Saint Maurice is an opportunity for everyone to get together during the traditional descent of cattle from the mountain pastures.
Description
Starting at 10 a.m., head to the bus station parking lot to explore a village of vendors offering a variety of gourmet foods and artisanal goods. Throughout the day, the town will come alive with various activities celebrating the end of the alpine grazing season.
At 10:30 a.m., watch the grand parade of herds of Tarine and Abondance cows, goats, sheep, and other animals. These herds will parade through the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice accompanied by the sound of bells and numerous musical groups.
A friendly meal will be served on-site.
Roads in the town center will be closed to traffic from 10:15 a.m. until the end of the parade. For parking, if you’re coming from Aime or Moûtiers, you can park at the Funicular parking lot; if you’re coming from Séez or Tignes, you can park at the Place Saint Jean parking lot.
