Skiing, mountaineering, trail running, exploration… but also the environment, culture, inclusion, and personal stories: the Xplore Alpes Festival showcases the mountains in all their facets.
For its 6th edition, the festival is reaching even greater heights with nine days of adventure films, premieres, meet-and-greets, and discussions across several towns and resorts in the Tarentaise region.
What’s on the program? Stories that take you far away—sometimes very high up—and, above all, make you want to see the peaks in a whole new light.
In short, nine days to soak up the mountain air… without necessarily having to strap on skis.
Movies… but not just movies
Because a great story doesn’t end with the closing credits.
Throughout the festival, screenings and premieres offer opportunities to meet the people who’ve been in front of or behind the camera.
Directors, athletes, mountaineers, trail runners, and adventurers come to share the behind-the-scenes stories of their projects, their successes, their doubts… and sometimes the struggles we usually prefer to cut out during editing.
It’s a great way to keep the adventure going once the lights come back on.

Because the mountains are meant to be watched… but they also spark a lot of conversation.
With the “Causeries,” the Xplore Alpes Festival puts the films on pause and opens up a discussion on the major issues shaking up the mountain world today.
The environment, society, safety, culture, the future of these regions… here, there are no lofty speeches: we exchange ideas, we debate, we ask questions, and we put the world to rights a little bit.
You don’t need to be an expert, a mountaineer, or the top of the class: just bring your questions… and as for the answers, we’ll figure them out together.

On October 31 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the Savoyard writer will join us to discuss a simple, straightforward question:

Even the pros step behind the camera
The Xplore Alpes Festival is growing—and not just in terms of audience size.
On October 29 and 30, the Xplore Content Market will transform the Base Camp Lodge in Bourg-Saint-Maurice into a playground for directors, producers, broadcasters, brands, and outdoor professionals.
On the agenda: workshops, meetings, and discussions centered on mountain and adventure content—to present projects, build connections, and envision the next stories to be told.

A festival that’s making itself at home in the Tarentaise
The Xplore Alpes Festival clearly didn’t get the memo telling it to stay in one place.
Throughout the festival, screenings, meet-and-greets, and talks take place in several towns and resorts across the Tarentaise.
That gives you plenty to choose from in the program, follow your favorites… or turn the week into a true mountain film marathon.
