» Wed’ze Park

A base camp called Wed’ze is being set up in Arc 1800 to test the new Quechua wed’ze skis, and also to bring you a new fun area. Special events and activities will be taking place from 27th to 30th December and from 6th to 25th February.

Quechua is the mountain brand of the Decathlon chain of sports shops. It has chosen the resort of les Arcs and the SMA (ski area management company) as its partner to launch its new Wed’ze skis. A base camp set up on the slopes of Arc 1800 will be the perfect place to test this new fun equipment. A border cross has been prepared by the SMA technical staff and will be open to all, letting you try everything possible with these new skis !

(GIF)From the 27th to the 30th of December and from the 6th to the 25th of February 2006, specific Wed’ze entertainment and activities will be organised by Quechua and the SMA with equipment loans, night-time skiing and many other surprises.

In old savoyard patois, Wed’ze means ‘sliding around and fun and games’, which is why it was chosen as the name for these short (1m27), wide skis. You won’t need to spend a long time learning how to use them, so get out there and enjoy yourself. Equipped with classic bindings, they offer the same safety performance as traditional skis.

From the 9th of November check out the wedze.com site to have a preview of this "new way to express enjoyment and pleasure".
