Villaroger nature reserve

Date of creation : 1991. Flagship species : The ‘Tétras-lyre’ also known as the little cockerel from Bruyère. Other species : chamois, stag, roe deer, hare, ptarmigan... Regulations : Off-piste skiing is forbidden in the Natural Reserve (*) as it would disturb the animals, in particular the Tétras-lyre. In winter, this bird builds its nest under powdery snow. A passing skier would cause it to flee using energy too difficult to recuperate when food is in short supply.
