The Columbia Speed Flying Pro les Arcs

The Columbia Speed Flying Pro les Arcs 2008 announces their second edition from the 4th to the 8th of February 2008. With a unique format for this nonstandard event which, in only one year has become the inevitable rendez-vous for the best speed flyers of the planet.

"World class invitational" is inviting 25 athletes coming from 6 different nationalities who are going to confront each other in 3 categories to become the "Speed flyer of the year" and make off with the title held by Loïc Jean- Albert.....

Skydivers, Base Jumpers, Paragliders & Professionals skiers, The Columbia Speed flying Pro Les Arcs event will have the best world level of the speed flying transversal disciplines. A plethora of World champions for an exeptional stage in Les Arcs site.

Columbia Sportswear Company™ the official partner for this second edition. Columbia is one of the largest outdoor worldwide brands who offer technical outwear, sportswear, footwear, equipment & accessories dedicated to outdoor leisure. Mathias Roten, Géraldine Fasnacht, Thomas May... will be some of those representing the Columbia team for the event.

Our partner resort: Les Arcs / Bourg St Maurice, a precursor in Speed Flying, has had specially dedicated areas for this discipline since 2006. Set in the heart of Paradiski, one of the newest and most prestigious ski areas in the world, it offers an unmissable flying experience in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful place in Europe...

The runs :

Speed Cross: Takes slalom to its extreme with two speed flyers, two tracks and only one winner.

Big Mountain: The Freeride event including jump offs, figures and choice of tracks. Shown on a huge screen, the runs will be judged by the other riders.
