» Ice Groto

On entering the caves the first thing you notice is the silence. Even if the wind is howling outside, inside everything is calm.

A few muffled steps in the snow and you will discover another world, strange and unreal.

Here you will experience the clean, cold lines of ice sculptures expressing all the beauty of giant jewels or gems, their beautiful curves expressing warmth despite the temperature. The main hall at the end of the tunnel is the piece de resistance, a spectacular lighting arrangement displays the serenity of the caves to the full.

The sculptors will work their magic in transporting you to a world from which the return may be rather hard Don’t miss this unique visit before the sun takes it away.

10,000 m 3 of snow, with a density superior to that required for ski runs, is required for the construction of the caves.

A dozen sculptors from all over Europe spend a week here every year, developing their skills in the caves’ nooks and crannies, for the pleasure of visitors to the caves.
