New organisation for Winter 2007-2008: The change in parents’ demands led us to modify our reception proposals. To facilitate the stay for families and the reception of children of different ages:
infants 1 to 2 years old are now welcomed at the Nova residence
For family vacations at your pace:
infants and children 1 to 6 years old may be welcomed "à la carte": the Nursery, the Club Aventure and meals may be reserved separately. Reservation and information by telephone - +33(0)4 79 04 24 31 - or by email - miniclub@ski-lesarcs.com
To respect the pace of children 3 to 5 years old :
ski lessons are only offered in the morning
Our "all inclusive skiing" service (reception and equipment for children before and after the lessons, dividing up into groups, accompaniment, ESF [Ecole du Ski Français (French Skiing School)] ski lessons, lending and management of the ski equipment...] that live up to the expectations of the "little ones":
The maximum age for registration in the "Mini Club" ski lessons is 5 years old. Teaching children in the "Mini Club" takes place at the Arc 1800 ESF kindergarten. The ski lessons are for beginners preparing for "piou piou", "baby bear", and "snow flake" levels.
Since children 6 years and over and children preparing for the "first star" are more on the ball:
Registration for ski lessons takes place directly at the ESF.
The "Club Mini" lunch formula is also possible +33 (0)4 79 07 40 31 - www .esflesarcs.com
Collecting your ski-passes and child-care centre services :
In the event of an order of at least one Pommes de Pin child-care service, including a ski-pass, you can collect all of your ski-passes at the same time when you arrive at the child-care centre.
What documents will I need to show when I go to the child-care centre ?
We will ask you to show proof of age, as well as your booking confirmation.
When can I be sure that my child ’s place has definitely been reserved ?
After confirmation of your payment , we can validate your child’s enrolment, subject to availability. You will then receive a confirmation email.
Do I need to book a long time in advance ?
There are increasing numbers of online advanced bookings. Three weeks in advance is the minimum, except during the February half-term holidays which are sometimes full by the beginning of January. The sooner you book, the better.
Whereabouts in the resort are you located ?
The child-care centre (1-5 years olds) is in the resort centre (Résidence Nova) and is easier to get to.
My child isn’t quite one year old. Can I still enrol him / her at the nursery ?
We are sorry to inform you that legislation and the PMI (Department of protection for mothers and infants) impose strict age limits upon us, whether it be for the nursery (1 year), the Garderie (3 years) of the Ski curses(3 to 5 years).
My child just turned six. May I register him anyway in the Club Mini?
Sorry, but again the age limit must be rigourously respected, for the quality of services offered as well as for children’s safety. Please contact the ESF which will offer you lessons that are adapted to your child’s level and meals as an option
I won’t arrive in resort until the Sunday. Is that a problem ?
No, not for the Nursery as it isn’t open on Saturdays. However, for the Garderie child-care centre and especially for ski school, it is a problem. Lessons start early on the Sunday morning and you will have to wait until all of the children who arrived and were « prepared » the day before, have left for their lessons. Be prepared for quite a long wait, whilst remaining calm and curteous. On some occasions the children may not be able to join their group on that particular morning. This may disrupt your Sunday morning timetable a little.
Is it possible to book one or two days and not the « week » package ?
It’s possible for Nurserie, Gardrei or meals but not for the ski curses.
Please contact us for availbility
Which ski level for my child?
From 3 to 4, children may prepare for Piou Piou or Baby Bear levels. At 5 they may prepare for Baby Bear or Snow Flake levels.
Why are your ski school packages more expensive than with the ESF French ski school?
Because in addition to the ski school, we offer child-care before and after the lessons (1 hour extra), as well as ski rental equipment during the classes (excluding the helmet). You don’t need to carry the equipment as it is stored on site. The ski-pass is prepared and issued in resort. The medal that children receive at the end of the week is also included in the price.
The ski school option that I’m looking for is not available when I try to confirm my selection (drop-down menu). Is this a mistake ?
The ski school option you are looking for may not be running during that particular week or perhaps there are no available spaces left. Do not hesitate to contact us at miniclub@ski-lesarcs.com.
Do we need to supply our own ski equipment ?
For ski lessons with ESF French ski instructors your child will be given equipment. Outside of these lessons you can use your own equipment or take the « Après Ski » option : equipment loan outside of lesson times from Sunday afternoon to Saturday lunchtime.
What are the « Carré Neige » and « Forfait plus » insurances for ?
The Carré Neige covers ski related accidents and the high costs that can ensue (Hospitalization, evacuation from the slopes via ski stretcher or helicopter...). The « forfait plus » covers cancellations (for example, an illness before the holiday) or calling your stay short (for example, your child becomes sick during the week). You can call + 33 (0)1.60.84.75.45 for more information. We strongly recommend the cancellation insurance if you have little ones.
There are some things that my child cannot eat. Can I still enrol him / her at the restaurant ?
There are many young children who require a great deal of attention at mealtimes. The caterer that delivers the meals only offers one menu and we are unable to offer other solutions.
Naps : do children take naps ?
Only children who have had lunch with us from Monday to Friday can, if their parents ask us or if we deem it necessary, take a nap at around 12.30 pm in a rest area designed especially for this.
